Colorado Springs Diversity Forum’s 9th annual “Everybody Welcome™” is a free multi-cultural festival highlighting our rich diversity. It began in 2007 and now will be held indoors for the first time. This year, we collaborate with local military bands, Funk Hall-of-Famers and partners to create a family-friendly evening of fun, food and funk!
Together with The Funk Center, C/S Conservatory, PeakEducation and local school districts, we’ve included a musical Instrument Drive enabling more schools to provide instruments for students who can’t afford them and collectively impact the musical diversity in our community.
These prestigious awards are given to recognize businesses and organizations in the Pikes Peak Region that demonstrate and promote diversity and inclusion in both their internal operations and external civic engagement. Standards of excellence will include highly inclusive organizational policies and benefits, as well as commitment to diversity training, education, and volunteerism on all levels of operation.
Dialogue assumes that many people have pieces of the puzzle. Dialogue is also described as civil discourse, “the language of dispassionate objectivity”, and … “it requires respect of the other participants. It neither diminishes the other’s moral worth, nor questions their good judgment; it avoids hostility, direct antagonism, or excessive persuasion; it requires modesty and an appreciation for the other participant’s experiences.” Kenneth J. Gergen
Topics which tend to generate a variety of opinions are discussed with the support of ground rules and a neutral facilitator. Several groups are formed twice per year and will commit to meeting 5 times in the following 6 months to engage in
